This was a sci-fi show about a guy and his son having super human healing powers. They got this power from being too close to a van that had some kind of chemical in it and it exploded, causing the guy to be badly burned and having to go to the hospital. An ordinary single father, who can't seem to hold a job due to his stress ulcers, and his son are exposed to gasses brought back from another planet by a NASA space probe. The gasses allow them to heal at incredible speeds, but they are susceptible to passing out in full darkness! . The father is recruited to stop a madman who has stolen laser technology that is imperfect and liable to explode. Scott Bakula plays a cab driver who is exposed to a mysterious gas and soon learns he is able to heal just about any wound (he is shot soon after the gas exposure) and has become "indestructable". Unfortunately for him, if he is kept in total darkness, his cells will die, along with the rest of him (he finds this out when the doctor who has been testing his blood keeps finding all of his cells in the petri dishes die after she pulls them out of the freezer or whatever dark place she was keeping it).
